Keep off the Grass – Issue 206
Don’t smoke weed. You’ll end up telling your friends you made a shirt for David Bowie. And that Bradford Cox called you on the phone. And that you did chemistry in VCE, and they’ll let you cook your own food at the Grace Darling. And that you discovered the magical commune where old bikes are made anew, and dreadlocks and pot fall from the sky like the gentle rains. What a load of crap.
Three thousand has the dope, I mean scope, I mean scoop. -

Is Penny the new Banksy?
Famous When Dead features Penny:
Penny is a London based stencil artist (born 1982) who spends lots of time cutting holes in paper. It is through these holes that he sprays exquisite colours to produce images that pour pleasure into your peepers.
His images depict a subtly subverted vision of reality, achieved through vivid colours, distorted scale and combining organic and industrial elements.
If you find a Penny, pick it up and all day long, not only will you have good luck, but you will also have a great piece of art by one of the UK’s best stencil artists.

etoy.QUEER-LABS
We know there’s a little gay guy in everyone. But the etoy.BUREAUCRATS forgot to celebrate this fact!
etoy.CORPORATION SA wishes to apologize officially for not consulting the etoy.QUEER-LABS before setting this year’s GENERAL MEETING date.
Shame on the chairman and all his board members: the 6th of June 2009 is the day of the EUROPRIDE PARADE & FESTIVAL in Zurich! EuroPride is this year’s biggest gay event in the world: a celebration and political demonstration for acceptance and tolerance, against discrimination and against the creation of taboos and violence on grounds of sexual orientation. Political speakers include the politician and publicist Daniel Cohn Bendit, the mayor of Zurich, Corinne Mauch, and the Moldovan human rights activist Mihaela Copot.
The chairman proposes triple voting rights for all etoy.SHAREHOLDERS who can show probable cause that they practice/tested same-sex romance and/or participate in the general meeting as cross-dresser/gender-bender.
In addition, etoy installed the position of agent.PINK who can be contacted to delegate voting rights in case the celebration schedule cannot be synchronized with the etoy.MEETING-PLAN. —> use: gay@ir.etoy.com
kisses from etoy …leaving reality behind.

Locust swarms or fires to track? Robots are go…
THERE are robot submarines, robot aircraft and robot ground vehicles. “It’s like Thunderbirds in our lab,” says Sydney engineer, Hugh Durrant-Whyte.
Instead of the international missions undertaken by the marionette TV series, these Sydney robots are being developed for very Australian applications: to track locust swarms, monitor bushfires, identify and spray weeds in remote areas, herd animals and observe sea creatures on the ocean floor.
The wide, empty spaces made this country ideal for deploying autonomous vehicles, said Professor Durrant-Whyte, of the University of Sydney. “If you were to pick one place in the world to do field robotics, it would be Australia.”

Elizabeth Gilbert – TED TALK
Elizabeth Gilbert muses on the impossible things we expect from artists and geniuses — and shares the radical idea that, instead of the rare person “being” a genius, all of us “have” a genius. It’s a funny, personal and surprisingly moving talk.
The author of Eat, Pray, Love, Elizabeth Gilbert has thought long and hard about some large topics. Her next fascination: genius, and how we ruin it.
