Error and Judgement takes as its departure point the notion of making an error of judgement and its relevation of erroneous decisions. Instead, this project focuses on the possibilities of mistakes and their capacity to lead to unplanned and unintended positive outcomes. To this end, the word judgement is employed to denote when that which was initially considered to be an error is deemed to be an attribute. Error and Judgement presents a selection of works which embrace such possibilities for chance, both formally and conceptually, and conversely, how misjudgement might be reflected in consideration of some of recent history’s more divisive political figures, their political regimes, and indeed, their legacies or errors in governance.
