Welcome to the amazing world of Brian Froud. Actually it’s a world of Frouds where you can explore the work of Brian, his wife Wendy and son Toby. The website seems to need some updating but there’s a lot of buzz about the new project Brian has been involved with Shadows of the Dark Crystal (the prequel).

For those who have NOT seen the movie, The Dark Crystal is a British fantasy-adventure (sic) directed by Jim Henson and Frank Oz, with concept art by Brian Froud. It tells the story of Jen, an adorable lil Gelfling (like an elf) on a quest to find a mysterious, broken Crystal that has the power to heal his world. The world is populated by many strange and curious creatures, including the peaceful Mystics and the scary-as-all-get-out Skeksis, both of whom are dying. The film features an amazing scene where the Emperor of the Skeksis slowly falls apart and decomposes in real time, and it is SO. EFFING COOL.
