#3D Printed Glowing #Flower // Becky Stern @bekathwia [#geekgirl]

I’ve been a big fan of Becky Stern’s work for a long time! I’m tempted to try this one out, lucky I found a hackerspace in Ballarat!

In Becky Stern’s latest Instructables project and accompanying YouTube video, she shows how to 3D design and print sweet LED-illuminated flowers. Becky is one of the true masters of clear and clever presentation of instructional materials. And she just keeps getting better.

Beehave exhibition in #Barcelona ~ how #bees intersect with a #City [#geekgirl]

The Fundació Joan Miró presents Beehave, a project that draws on contemporary artists’ interest in honey bees and the key role these insects play in the planet’s environmental balance.

Curated by Martina Millà, the Programming and Projects Director at the Fundació Joan Miró, Beehave begins at the museum with an exhibition based on immersive installations that invite visitors to connect with the world of these insects, with which we share an age-old bond.

With the aim of sparking a citizen debate about the coexistence of humans and bees in urban settings. More than twenty artists of ten different nationalities are presenting close to sixty pieces in the Fundació and at fifteen locations in Barcelona. Most of these works have been produced specifically for the show and range from paintings to sculptures, photographs, videos, interventions, multimedia installations and performances.

The project, developed in collaboration with the Banc Sabadell Foundation and with support from Torrons i Mel Alemany, the Institut de Cultura de Barcelona (ICUB) and Kunsthaus Baselland, will be travelling to this venue in Switzerland in September. Source: Beehave exhibition info

“The Summit” an #experimental #performance about #AI & #Transhumanism [#geekgirl]

The Summit - Teaser from Arboretum Productions on Vimeo.

As the global elite prepare to abandon their bodies and upload themselves into the virtual beyond, a malfunctioning Empathy A.I. is mistakenly assigned to assist with the procedure, but instead unwittingly inspires a bodily-bacchanal for the ages.

The Summit is an experimental performance written, directed, and designed by Isla Hansen, Tucker Marder—a former SymbioticA artist-in-residence—and Christian Scheider, commissioned by the Guild Hall Center for the Visual and Performing Arts.

Upcoming Performance | Occurs: 31 August + 1-2, 4-8, 9 September 2018 | Guild Hall | East Hampton, US
