GG Allin #Hologram to Throw Feces at #Coachella 2016 #punkpoo [#geekgirl]

GG Allin

Goldenvoice announced this week that Coachella 2016 will close out with a bang next year, as a revolutionary new hologram of GG Allin will chuck his feces directly into the crowd.

Citing the huge success and rabid press coverage of the Tupac hologram in 2012, the festival promoters decided to top themselves with another legend gone too soon.

“We’re psyched that GG will be a part of Coachella 2016. It should really mix things up to have him up there. Plus the abundance of human feces flowing from the inadequate bathroom facilities should provide plenty of ammo.”

Engineers were still working out the kinks as to whether said feces would also be a hologram, or in fact be “real human doo-doo [sic].” “We don’t know exactly what he’ll be working with. We’re developing a new hybrid technology that would allow a hologram to interface the real, tangible world,” said Cal Tech engineer Bev Trill, Ph.D. “Obviously the real thing would create a more exciting, visceral experience for all involved.”

Eyebeam Summer School Art Hack Weekend:: New York #hackers #hackathon #arts #geekgirl

_Eyebeam Summer School Art Hack Weekend _Free Event :: 5 – 7 August 2011 :: New York _

Artists, designers, and developers can join Eyebeam Art & Technology Center and The Creators Project August 5th-7th for Art Hack Weekend, a two-day, open-source hackathon that celebrates new artistic experiences.  Design, code and prototype projects that re-imagine the way we create, consume, and interact with media.  The project is interested in exploring how new technological advancements in fields like motion tracking, depth mapping, holographics and 3D visuals, gesture control, augmented reality, projection mapping, and networked environments can be transformed into tools that help change the way we experience and connect with art both on and offline, and/or creating entirely new artistic experiments.

Scientist: Holographic television to become reality

The future of television? This image is an impression of what 3D holographic television may look like. The future of television? This image is an impression of what 3D holographic television may look like.Picture this: you’re sat down for the Football World Cup final, or a long-awaited sequel to the “Sex and the City” movie and you’re watching all the action unfold in 3-D on your coffee table.

It sounds a lot like a wacky dream, but don’t be surprised if within our lifetime you find yourself discarding your plasma and LCD sets in exchange for a holographic 3-D television that can put Cristiano Ronaldo in your living room or bring you face-to-face with life-sized versions of your gaming heroes.

The reason for renewed optimism in three-dimensional technology is a breakthrough in rewritable and erasable holographic systems made earlier this year by researchers at the University of Arizona.

Dr Nasser Peyghambarian, chair of photonics and lasers at the university’s Optical Sciences department, told CNN that scientists have broken a barrier by making the first updatable three-dimensional displays with memory.

“This is a prerequisite for any type of moving holographic technology. The way it works presently is not suitable for 3-D images,” he said.

Amplified Elephants performing Black Widow

————————————————– F O O T S C R A Y A U D I O – V I S U A L S O C I A L C L U B ————————————————–

Amplified Elephants performing Black Widow Tuesday September 9, 6-8pm Pit Theatre, Footscray Arts, Melbourne

Black Widow The Amplified Elephants continue their work exploring minimal drones, 80’s synthesizers and the spidery sounds made by amplified found objects. Black Widow is a series of three 10 minute group-devised works that express darker emotions and experiences through a visceral process of turning sound into art.

James Hullick, a renowned composer, has been working for over 3 years with Sound Art participants of Footscray Community Arts Centre’s ArtLife Program. Over that period of time a distinctly gothic sonic palate has emerged in their work, perhaps in response to those ‘gothic’ qualities of life in the western suburbs – industrial landscapes and entire regions where citizens are feeling the financial weight.

The Amplified Elephants are an interabilities ensemble of sound artists who have participated in Sound Art workshops as part of our ArtLife program. After two hugely successful concerts at Footscray Community Arts Centre last year, the group are back to give FAVSC audiences an aural experience to remember.

——– FAVSC is a meeting place for artists, noise makers, sound-designers, electronics boffins, installation artists, film freaks, VHS geeks, performers, programmers, DIYers, phonographers, photographers, holographers, circuit benders, laptop musicians, curators, producers and anyone with an interest in lo/hi-fi new/old-media art.

———- Footscray Arts is located on the Maribyrnong river bicycle path, which crosses the Footscray Road bicycle path from the Melbourne city.

FAVSC is produced by Emile Zile and co-curated by Tim Webster and Lindsay Cox.

“Postkarten aus der Tiefsee” – holography by Ms.M

Am Sonntag, den 20. Juli ab 19 Uhr (und nur an diesem Abend!) zeigt Martina Mrongovius “Postkarten aus der Tiefsee”.

Martina Mrongovius is a Melbourne/New York based artist who works with holographic images.

This exhibition features the first of her holographic postcard series freshly printed at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln, as well as images from her ongoing work that plays with the viewers proprioceptive reading of the hologram.

The postcards capture the essence of our daydreams and the dynamics of memory, each carrying a little story back from far away places.

Zusätzlich wird eine Gemeinschaftsarbeit von Martina Mrongovius, Till Nachtmann und Stefan Silies gezeigt. Grill und Getränke sind vorhanden.
