CANVASSING THE EMOTIONS

Canvassing  the Emotions: Women, Creativity and Mental Health in Context. This exhibition is primarily drawn from the Cunningham Dax Collection and  illuminates the complexities faced by women experiencing mental ill  health and producing art in Australia.

STILETTOS IN CYBER SPACE

Stilettos in Cyber Space: Die Pretty, Digital graff vs sassy street threads. Fashion and new media spectacular for L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2008.

Fusing fashion, graffiti art and animation this experimental new media performance will unleash Die Pretty’s Winter 08 collection as part of The Cultural Program for the L’Oreal Fashion week.

Die pretty is a sassy ladies clothing with a quirky twist that may stop traffic and lead you into temptation. Specialising in all things playful and street savvy, Die Pretty’s cute T-dresses, hot jumpsuits, electric leggings, fabulous frocks, micro minis and body hugging hoodies are guaranteed to bring out the devious side.

Hosted by Horse Bazaar, one of Melbourne’s premier new technology venues, Stilettos in Cyber-Space will be screened with a cutting edge 8 projector set-up. The Super-cute digital graphics fused with virtual fashion promises to entertain tech heads and fashionistas alike, taking you on a mischievous adventure into the next dimension of style.

The Melbourne Queer Film Festival

The 18th Melbourne Queer Film Festival is running from 5 to 16 March. Over 11 days an estimated 24,000 film lovers will watch over 140 gender bending films from around the world. The Festival will present a strong program of over 40 features, over 30 documentaries and 70 plus short films selected by Festival Director Lisa Daniel and her Selection Panel, who over the last 10 years have built the festival into one of the top five Gay and Lesbian film festivals in the world.

Comedy Film Festival

Call for Entries: The Funnybone 500 Comedy Short Film Festival.

Comedy films and animations three minutes or less!

$2000 prize for Best Comedy Film, prizes for Best Animation, Best Script and Best New Talent.

Films can have been shot at any time, even for other competitions.

We’ve run the Funnybone 500 every year since 2002 to encourage comedy film making!
