Dan Fielding “Domestic God”
http://www.myspace.com/thedomesticgod
Dan fancies himself as the next Jamie Oliver, spliced with Domestic Goddess
Nigella Lawson. His mission in life is to help 20- something guys take
control of their chaotic home lives (and make himself rich and famous in the
process). In his quest to be talent spotted by a TV producer, Dan has a
MySpace page dedicated to his amazing domestic skills and his glamorous
lifestyle. He has also created a series of clips which are basically tasters
of a TV show “Domestic God” which Dan would like to make and star in.
You’ll laugh at Dan’s complete and utter arrogance, fame seeking and wannabe
attitude – he could even teach a Z list celeb a lesson or two! Some people
are so passionate that he is the most annoying thing to grace MySpace that
they have created another MySpace page devoting to sending Dan up. All this
“hate” activity is topped off with a disgruntled, unpaid editor who is
currently uploading some rather embarrassing out-takes on You Tube.
Dan is clearly a complete product of the “I wanna be famous (and will do
anything for it)” mentality, but he is also part of a riddle backed by a
rather large brand…but can you guess which one it is?
EMBATTLED US toymaker Mattel is fighting toxic toys on another front – a model’s pornographic website using Barbie’s name.
In a lawsuit filed in the US District Court in Manhattan, Mattel said the website for an adult entertainer named China Barbie tried to benefit from its success with the 48-year-old line of dolls.
China Barbie’s site says she’s a 34D-22-33 (all natural!) “cordial young lady” who sat behind the desks of some of the world’s leading investment banking firms and advertising agencies in New York before getting into porn.
It says her filmography includes Me Luv You Long Time, Ethnic Cheerleaders 8 and Passport to Paradise.

Experimenta and ACMI Cinemas, Australian Centre for the Moving Image present
two dynamic programs of films.
Sidelines is a program of films in which and art and sport collide,
sometimes literally! The program includes the Australian premiere of the
explosive feature film, Hell on Wheels, which caught the attention of
Richard Sowada, ACMI’s Head of Programming at its premiere screening at the
North By Northwest Film Festival in Texas, USA.
HELL ON WHEELS – Bob Ray, 90mins, USA, 2007
The forgotten sport of Roller Derby is making more than a comeback – it’s a
downright explosion! With roots planted in Russ Meyer aesthetics, all-girl
leagues are an international phenomenon. This rocking doc starts by looking
at the early days of the Texas Rollergirls league but what the filmmakers
capture is something well beyond the teeth and tats of the rink and
infinitely harder. As the sniff of cash grows, there’s more double-teaming
outside the rink than in and dreams fall apart in the most dramatic of ways.
The second feature film is Sundance Grand Jury Prize Winner, Sick: The Life
and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist from Oscar nominated Kirby Dick.
Sick: The Life and Death of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist – Kirby Dick,
90mins, USA, 1997
A breakthrough doc from Oscar nominated Kirby Dick, Sick: The Life and Death
of Bob Flanagan, Supermasochist kicked and screamed its way through the
international festival circuit accruing multiple awards including the
coveted Sundance Grand Jury Prize. The film paints an engrossing portrait of
Bob Flanagan who, at that time, was the world’s oldest known person with
Cystic Fibrosis. Rather than be defeated, he turned his condition into an
experimental artistic statement. Inspiring, bizarre, riotous, disturbing
and outrageous, he film resonates in the most meaningful of ways. An
extraordinary film and a most remarkable experiment.
“One of the funniest, most disturbing and poignant explorations of human
nature ever made,” Merle Bertrand, Film Threat.
“Wildly original and audacious” “Always brilliant, if sometimes tough to
watch, this landmark doc, made with the full collaboration of Flanagan’s
widow, deserves to be seen on the big screen,” Emanuel Levy, Variety
Magazine.
