CALL FOR EXPERIMENTA PLAYGROUND GALLERY HOSTS

Experimenta Media Arts is seeking volunteers and interns to support our upcoming biennial exhibition in Melbourne. Experimenta Playground will take place from 24 August to 23 September 2007, and will consist of a major exhibition of interactive and screen based media artworks by Australian and international artists, as well as several screening programs at ACMI Cinemas, Australian Centre for the Moving Image and Fed Square Big Screen.

We will need a team of gallery hosts (*invigilators*) to perform a number of important tasks:

Invigilation * Supervision of artworks and helping visitors to interact with the works * Talking about works with interested exhibition visitors * Encouraging visitors to complete the audience feedback form Conduct Exhibition Tours * Primary and secondary school groups * Tertiary education groups

Reception * Selling catalogues & merchandise * Encouraging membership & subscription to the free Experimenta eBulletin * Monitoring gold coin donations

General Support * Crowd control & direction * Turning artworks on and off Hours Interns & volunteers will be rostered in 4-hour blocks during the exhibition period (12 noon-8pm every day). If you are interested in participating, please nominate days and times when you would be available.
