Tuesday 5th February Para(noid) Politics in the Archives Emerging Viruses and Vaccinations Dr. Len Horowitz presents the definitive exploration into the origins of the AIDS and Ebola viruses. Claims that these “emerging viruses” naturally evolved and then jumped species from monkey to man are laughable in light of the documented evidence in this extraordinary program. The genocidal theory of AIDS is meticulously explored within the social and political context of this stormy period of American military science. Mu-Meson Archives doors 7.30 for 8pm start with supper $10 Friday 8th February Grindhouse Double Demon Witch Child (1975) Is the story of an old witch who possesses the body of the police commissioner’s daughter, Susan. Before you know it, Susan is questioning the status quo, criticizing the hypocrisies of her elders, sneering at the terminally staid, and startling everyone with potty mouth words. The amazing thing about DEMON WITCH CHILD is that, if you look past Susan’s demonically-possessed antics the rest of it is standard behavior in children of her age today. Mandinga (1976) After Mandingo and Drum the Italians had to get in on the act. This film is cheaply made so much so that the women wear the same dress throughout. At the drop of a hat (and there is a lot of hat dropping) the Massa gets down with the slave women, and the Missus gets down with the big black studs and each other. That is until the Massa’s son comes home from England. When he takes the local preacher’s daughter for a wife, and bares him a black baby the consequences are dire. Through a series of impressively candid, informed and articulate interviews, this film argues that the bizarre events surrounding the 9/11 attacks, and the equally bizarre prosecution of the so-called “war on terror”, can be more credibly understood in the wider context of an imminent and critical divergence between available global oil apply and global oil demand. As Ann slowly learns the dark secrets behind the family, she sets her sights on liberating Baby until a bizarre revelation about her own past leads to a shocking and twisted denouement Rediscover a little-seen thriller that ranks as one of the most perverse and unique films of the 1970s.
