ProPublica launched

ProPublica, the not-for-profit investigative journalism initiative of former Wall Street Journal managing editor Paul Steiger that was announced last year is now up and running. The project is funded with some $10 million in annual pledged donations from a mix of contributors and has vowed to create investigative journalism for a variety of news outlets and aggregate other US investigative journalism on its site.
