NEW LUMINESCENT FABRIC
Dubbed electroluminescent yarn, or “EL yarn”, this new fabric is created from a multi-layer electroluminescent thin film composite material made of regular yarn on the inside dipped in a special light-emitting ink. Developed at Manchester University’s School of Materials, EL yarn could be put to a variety of uses, such as outfits for joggers and cyclists, novelty and promotional applications or for emergency situations.
